FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

 

Hazelett Corporation is looking for a hands-on, self-driven, and experienced Facilities Technician who has experience with maintenance tasks to support the entire facility.

This position is 1st shift, with the following schedule flexibility:

  • 5 days, 8 hours per day work-week or

  • 4 days, 10 hours per day work-week

*Some weekend work will be required, depending on the weather.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Recognize and report defective materials or maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager

  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance on machinery, buildings, and grounds as required.

  • Maintain the assigned work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

  • Overtime work will be available and at times will be mandatory, especially in the winter.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • A high school and/or technical school education with three years of maintenance-related experience in a manufacturing environment. A valid driver’s license is required.

  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, masonry, machine repair, painting, janitorial duties and uses hand and power tools common to these skills.

  • Read and interpret drawings, sketches, instructions, and specifications.

  • Use good judgment in performing tasks and follow all safety procedures.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights above 20 feet including on ladders and lifts on a regular basis.

  • Ability to drive a forklift, tractor, loader, snowplow, motorboats, company vehicles and zero turn lawn mowers.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, provide self-motivation, manage time, organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.

  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, stoop, twist, reach and work overhead on a regular basis

  • Ability to work with cleaning solutions and de-greasers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

The Facilities Technician works in all areas of the company including office environments and the manufacturing shop floor and is exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.  Personal safety equipment must be utilized when working on the production floor.  A considerable amount of outdoor work is required.
