What You Will Do: 

As the Heavy Equipment Technician II, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various industrial equipment, with a focus on stationary engineering systems. You will need to possess strong technical skills, a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery.

·       Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical system issues, with expertise in rebuilding hydraulic systems, and performing major repair tasks on various manufacturing equipment.

·       Make independent decisions on machine optimization and adjustments, record equipment malfunctions in the manufacturing software, and develop and optimize preventive maintenance plans for diverse heavy manufacturing machinery

·       Independently troubleshoot, manage and maintain multiple or more complex machines in the manufacturing process, ensuring machines are functioning correctly and efficiently.

·       Perform advanced adjustments on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment functions to ensure consistent production.

·       Work independently on standard tasks within guidelines, assembling products or components according to work orders, diagrams, or instructions.

·       Advanced skills in electrical diagnostics, repairs wiring harnesses, controls.

·       Train and coach team members, develop training modules for new equipment, and oversee large repair projects by coordinating team efforts and deadlines.

·       Use analytical reasoning to troubleshoot and repair all aspects of complex production equipment including the repair or replacement of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components on custom built as well as OEM supplied machines such as CNC mills and lathes, as well as cranes, generators, pumps, and compressors.

·       Willing to work flexible schedules as needed across multiple shifts and weekends to maintain and or fix equipment outside of the production schedule when possible.

·       Must be willing and able to work in other areas of manufacturing when equipment is functioning properly and not in need of attention.

·       Follow safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe working environment.

·       Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

·       Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring: 

·       High school diploma or equivalent education is required.

·       At least 10 years’ experience in a mechanical background is required.

·       Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment operation.

·       Demonstrated advanced technical expertise and troubleshooting capabilities to optimize and maintain manufacturing equipment while independently performing advanced maintenance activities.

·       Possess a high degree of independence, working with minimal supervision and managing own workload.

·       Advanced math and measurement skills.

·       Ability to lift to 50 pounds.

·       A willingness to work in varying temperature environments, possibly with noise or dust.

·       Maintains excellent attention to detail and focus on quality.

·       Exhibits excellent communication and teamwork skills.

·       Works effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

·       Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and hydraulic systems.

·       Understand commonly used manufacturing equipment concepts, practices, and procedures.

·       Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and bulletins accurately.

Work Environment:

The duties of the Equipment Technician will be carried out in the production area with exposure to fumes, noise, and gases from equipment or machinery. Safety glasses, safety shoes, and other required equipment must be used in the production area.  The job requires that the employee be able to handle and feel and must be able to walk and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must also be able to hear and speak and be able to see up close and adjust focus.
