SENIOR DESIGNER, CAD

As Senior Designer you will conceive and develop design concepts into tangible, workable, and manufacturable detailed designs for their intended functions. Working closely with our engineering team, you will create and revise technical drawings, ranging from simple machined parts to complex fabrications and assemblies with bills of materials.  Flexible hybrid work schedule with excellent growth potential.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Utilize both 2D and 3D CAD systems to generate layout, detail, and assembly drawings with minimal supervision.

  • Assist with checking detail drawings to ensure they are accurate and complete.

  • Coordinate the implementation of Engineering Change Orders/Requests.

  • Interact with suppliers on component specifications and selection.

  • Test design concepts as necessary to validate the design.

  • Recommend software upgrades, new applications, and equipment and provide technical support and guidance to users.

  • Develop implementation and training programs to assist with roll-out of new software or versions of existing software.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Aids in the training of new designer/detailers. Able to check complex drawings.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • A minimum of an A.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Has the motivation, desire, and ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.

  • Strong technical, reporting, and personal communications skills.

  • Effectively prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.

  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing, standard design conventions, and machine design.

  • Knowledge of structures, materials, joining, rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, and load/stress analysis.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and procedures.

  • Proficiency in the use of SolidWorks.

  • Personal computer and writing skills for analysis, reporting, and day-to-day correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
